English Style Haddock with Smashed Spuds and Sour Cream-Chive Tartar
The crispy bits of these smashed potatoes alongside the snap of green beans are the perfect partner in crime for the English Style Haddock. The romancing of the potato is complete with the addition of the decadent sour cream-chive tartar sauce. Just because it’s easy to prepare doesn’t mean it needs to look like it is!

English Style Haddock with Smashed Spuds
- 1 box Signature Cuts English Style Haddock
- 450g Small White Potatoes
- 300g Green Beans
- ½ cup White Vinegar
- 2 sprigs Rosemary
- 4 tbsp. Unsalted Butter, or Olive Oil
Sour Cream-Chive Tartar
- ½ cup Sour Cream
- 2 tbsp. Red Onion, minced
- 1 tbsp. Dijon Mustard
- 1 tbsp. Sugar
- 2 tbsp. Chives, minced
- 2 tbsp. Pickles, minced
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- Prepare Signature Cuts Haddock according to package instructions.
- Add the potatoes to a pot with the vinegar and add enough water to cover. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes total before straining.
- For the tartar: Mix together the sour cream, red onion, mustard, sugar, chives, pickles and Worcestershire.
- Lightly smash the slightly cooled potatoes with the palm of your hand on a hard surface. Melt the butter in a large non-stick saute pan add the potatoes, green beans and rosemary. Brown the potatoes for 2 minutes per side before serving alongside the English Style Haddock drizzled with Sour Cream-Chive Tartar.
